Stay
the star that sent me home
I begged someone to choose me before.
I asked him more than once.
He’d braid my hair,
kiss my forehead.
I let myself come undone.
In the quiet of the night,
I felt something slip away.
I whispered to myself,
half‑asleep,
please —this time, stay.
He came back to hold me then,
but was gone again too soon.
I was left
suddenly,
crying,
scared,
alone in my room.
I saw a shooting star that night.
I looked at it and prayed:
Bring me someone
kind
and loving
who finally decides to stay.
When I woke from my dream,
I felt a warm embrace.
I turned around to see myself —
a kind, peculiar face.
I didn’t know yet what it meant.
Had the star granted my wish?
But I held on tight,
in spite of myself,
as she whispered this:
You are all you’ll ever need.
Don’t think that you’re alone.
For when you’re whole inside your heart,
you’ll always have a home.
Her words kissed me slowly, softly.
I knew that they were true.
I looked in the mirror,
tears in my eyes,
and whispered:
There’s no one
in this world I love
no one,
more than you.

How beautiful is this poem!!! Self-love if allowed is what holds you always. It's just that many push it away.
When someone truly loves themselves with all the good & bad, the right type of love comes at the right time.✨️
A beautiful poem, Tianna, and the voice over is so soft, and matches the poem perfectly. Self-love is so important, because if you can't...
"You are all you’ll ever need.
Don’t think that you’re alone."
